Linux works via Wine

If any Linux mains are on the fence about purchasing, I got it working fairly painlessly with Wine and a little emotional support from Codex CLI. System is x86 Linux Mint 22.3, Wine 11 via Lutris. Took at little fiddling to get the audio output working AND getting the songs draggable between the browser and the decks. If you undock the browser, you won't be able to drag songs between the pop-out window and the main window unless they are overlapping. All in all, it's a solid purchase if you main Linux and want to start building out your sets now. But definitely switch to a macbook for live performances. Joel mentioned on stream that Linux official support is coming, but this will allow you to get a head start.

I had to do a little troubleshooting with mine, I needed to update libLLVM.so.23.1 as the previous package version I had installed was one version behind (22.1) :)

TLDR; to get dragging on wayland and wine 11: use Wine native Wayland driver by unsetting the DISPLAY cd ~/Applications/syndicate-0.1.908 env -u DISPLAY WINEPREFIX=$HOME/.local/share/wineprefixes/syndicate /opt/wine-staging/bin/wine Syndicate.exe Details: Running Syndicate 0.1.908 (Windows) on Linux with Wine: what worked - report from Claude Setup: Ubuntu 26.04, GNOME on Wayland, AMD Radeon 890M, PipeWire. - Skipped the installer: it's an NSIS archive, so I extracted Syndicate.exe with 7z and ran it directly. - Used a fresh, dedicated Wine prefix. An old prefix with broken DXVK symlinks made it fail at startup (d2d1.dll / dxgi.dll not found). - Installed DXVK into the prefix (winetricks dxvk). - Installed core fonts (winetricks corefonts). Without them, typed text in input fields was invisible. - Switched from Ubuntu's Wine 10 to Wine 11 (WineHQ staging 11.20). This fixed audio: - On Wine 10 the "Windows Audio" driver asks for a 64-channel stream, which Wine rejects. DirectSound only played the test tone, Master/Cue showed "no enabled stereo output", and the decks were silent. - On Wine 11, output pairs show up, Master/Cue can be assigned, and the audio setup is saved between launches. - Tip: install wine-staging (not winehq-staging) to keep distro Wine side by side. It goes to /opt/wine-staging. - Audio in the app: DirectSound, output pair 1/2 for Master and Cue. - Used Wine's native Wayland driver (run with DISPLAY unset). Under XWayland on Wine 11, dragging tracks from the library to the decks broke; with the Wayland driver it works. Downside: the window frame is drawn by Wine and doesn't match GNOME. - Don't switch Wine's audio driver to ALSA: the app crashed with an mmdevapi assertion. PS: seems to be cleanish code getting this running that well already congrats :)
